Links to things I enjoy.Komaeda Lovemail, an incredible ARG based on Nagito Komaeda from Danganronpa. You don't need to play the games to understand the ARG at all, and it's one of the most funny and thought-provoking experiences I've ever had in my life. Every day I curse myself at the knowledge that I will NEVER be able to come up with something as refreshing and interesting as this. It's a very, very big inspiration for the CoFD and I strongly reccommend anyone who enjoys internet culture to at least give it a look. Also, the wiki is a really great resource that helps you understand the timeline and story much better. There's over 8 thousand pages, I believe, so it's not a small effort in the slightest. If you know anything about neocities, chances are you're very aware of RanFren. It's the website that inspired me to start a neocities and I still find myself coming back to it frequently not only because the comic is brilliant, but because the website itself is (I believe) around a decade old. While I'm sure there's other websites that have been around longer and are still active, Ranfren's webpage is a "Howdie's Moving Castle" of sorts where it's continually being built upwards despite having the same foundation it did back in 2011, around two years after the collapse of geocities. Tt makes the website something you can explore forever without even needing to touch the comic which is a kind of artistic experience that you can't really get anymore. Love Exposure is a 2008 film by iconic Japanese arthouse filmmaker Sion Sono, also known for Antiporno and Suicide Club. It's famous for it's bizzare and surreal plot, along with its runtime of over four hours which, yeah, is kind of daunting. However, it's the kind of movie I think everybody should watch because its runtime allows it to be a movie that appeals to literally everyone. I literally cannot tell you anything about it, you have to just watch it. (but do look up trigger warnings first as things like self harm, suicide, sexual assault, child abuse, and more are present in this work, but portrayed with respect and not for shock value.) In 2013, the sports board of 4chan was rocked by one thing that would change internet history forever: The Philmarilion is a 97-page document that chronicled an anonymous user's obsession with UTV, a popular member of the board. There's 37 different sections that span from topics like rosarch tests made out of UTV's posts, to an entire 3d-modeled city made of UTVs posts, to EROTICA about the anonymous archiver and UTV. It's the kind of thing where even if it was a bit, the amount of effort it would have taken to make the Philmarilion renders any intent of irony null and void. It's also just a hilarious thing to read on call with your friends if you're up to it. More additions to the list... Coming soon.... |
